At Glockengasse 4711 you find two of Colgone’s great attractions:
The famous 4711 shop where you can get the perfume Eau de Cologne, and the Glockenspiel (chimes) which can be found outside the building (southside on top).
In this recording you can listen to the fountain standing in the shop, right at the entrance. You may expect a bubbling waterlike sound; instead you basically hear a droning noise from the pump and the slight runlet of the perfume running into a golden bowl. Try to catch the gentle “gurgling” sound of Eau de Cologne - use some headphones.
